BA 276 Advanced Payroll


Lecture Hours: 4
Credits: 4

Expands student’s current knowledge of payroll to include advanced payroll accounting, internal controls, and ethics.

Prerequisite: BA 177 ; and BA 228  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Calculate and process payroll including employee and employer state and federal tax and other deduction items. 
  2. Determine and complete year-end payroll reporting requirements. 
  3. Evaluate internal controls over payroll processing using accepted standards for internal control. 
  4. Review and practice ethical standards for the payroll professional using the standards as outlined by the American Payroll Association. 
  5. Accurately complete comprehensive payroll using Quickbooks.
