Explores interpersonal relations in an organizational setting. Topics include: interpersonal communications, individual and group behavior, leadership, forms and sources of power, organizational politics, organizational culture, conflict management, and change management.

Recommended: Placement into WR 121Z and BA 101 with a grade of C or better.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Use verbal and nonverbal communication skills to maintain a positive work environment.
Recognize and describe individual and cultural differences. Develop strategies to maintain a positive working relationship with a variety of points of view, life styles, and backgrounds.
Define classic and contemporary quality-control methods.
Describe the factors affecting customer relations and service. Explain the nature of positive customer relations and the concept of customer service.
Develop methods to manage anger, stress, interpersonal animosity, and other problems related to conflict.
Analyze and recommend the best strategy to resolve a conflict.
Relate current learning theories to training methods used in business settings.
