CIS 195 Web Site Development Lecture Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Covers web site planning, organization, and implementation. Explores web development applications. Discusses HTML, style sheets, and basic scripting. Addresses accessibility, browsers compatibility, and globalization issues.
Prerequisite: CIS 178I with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Implement a web site design process to plan a user centered web site.
- List and use web site design best practices.
- Compare and review various web development tools.
- Discuss HTML and its role in web design.
- Describe CSS and its role in web design.
- Identify uses of scripting languages to provide web site functionality.
- Discuss accessibility issues and propose resolutions to existing web sites.
- Evaluate an existing Web site to recommend changes to increase its impact and effectiveness.
- Develop strategies for web development that conform to W3C specifications.
- Explain the importance of usability in web site design.
