ECE 261 Student Teaching 1 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 4
Offers supervised teaching of young children in a laboratory setting.
Prerequisite: ECE 163 with a grade of C or better; second-year standing in the Early Childhood Education program; and consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Plan and supervise developmentally appropriate curriculum activities for children of all abilities.
- Practice and experiment with the supervision and guidance of daily routines and transitions.
- Describe the role of the teacher and explain lab school routines and operations.
- Use communication techniques working with staff and parents.
- Compose a responsible teaching role.
