ECE 261 Student Teaching 1

Offers supervised teaching of young children in a laboratory setting.

Prerequisite: ECE 163  with a grade of C or better; second-year standing in the Early Childhood Education program; and consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Plan and supervise developmentally appropriate curriculum activities for children of all abilities.
  2. Practice and experiment with the supervision and guidance of daily routines and transitions.
  3. Describe the role of the teacher and explain lab school routines and operations.
  4. Use communication techniques working with staff and parents.
  5. Compose a responsible teaching role.
  6. Lead group times
  7. Assist lead teacher
