MT 283 Process Control Practicum 3 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 9 Credits: 4
Provides on-the-job experience with area employers, under instructional oversight. Utilizes limited supervised industrial experience to develop advanced process control procedures, including equipment scheduling, equipment calibrations, process charting, and factory management with local industry partners.
Prerequisite: MT 282 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Respond to direction from the supervising site manager.
- Participate in basic industrial maintenance procedures.
- Practice industry standard professional and ethical behaviors at the work site.
- Describe and wear professional attire for the position.
- Select and assemble equipment as requested.
- Apply knowledge of basic process control systems through active participation.
- Apply OSHA standards to a worksite setting.
- Document process control changes.
- Use a standard response to changes in process control variables.
- Apply industry safety standards to industrial systems.
- Use skills to participate as an active member of a team.
- Apply calibration standards to workplace settings and equipment maintenance for scheduling requirements.
- Describe and use as appropriate, Manufacturing Execution Software (MES).
