SLD 125 Student Representation 2

Prepares second year lead ASC students to serve the mission of the program in a responsible, ethical, and professional manner while managing the goals of the whole membership. Introduces advanced skills and tools related to ASC tasks; training, evaluation, advocacy and recognition.

Prerequisite: Placement into WR 115  (or higher), or completion of WR 090  (or higher); and completion of SLD 124  ; and be a member of the incoming Associated Students of Chemeketa (ASC) Executive Board; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.)
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Evaluate public administration practices in comparison to other schools and develop proposals to improve student government operations.
  2. Critique their own public communication, organization and meeting management styles.
  3. Anticipate the needs of the ASC team members they will work with (e.g. Exec Board, Council, and Storm Front volunteers).
  4. Reflect on the prior year’s progress and develop a set of strategies for meeting ASC goals, problem solving, conflict resolution, and leadership challenges.
  5. Choose a plan for personal and professional balance that assists in their serving their ASC term of office.
