VC 226 Layout 3: Publication Design Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Applies the concepts and skills of the design and layout process to the principles of publication design.
Prerequisite: VC 225 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Solve graphic design challenges with original ideas.
- Produce multiple page layouts demonstrating knowledge of graphic design principles as they relate to publication design.
- Produce multiple page layouts including the use of spot and process color using appropriate page layout software.
- Apply professional standards of design and typesetting.
- Create multi-column grid formats suitable for use in ongoing publications.
- Use communication strategies to work as part of a group in a large publication.
